I started out the morning by checking purchase orders. This is tedious but I know that it is vital to a project.
Later I went back to the Kuehne residence where I went yesterday. This time I went with the designer of the project, Gina this was a much different experience with her. She is on the home stretch of finishing it and is stressed out to make sure everything gets done and on time. She was very particular about things but it is her job to be. There is a very geometrical wood and tile inlay floor patter in the foyer and following hallways. All the tile and wood was inserted but some grout still had to be added to certain sections. It is a pattern is black marble outlining a large white marble pattern. With the big contrast it was easy to see that the very straight line of black tile was not exactly straight. Gina talked with the general contractor and the site manager about fixing it with proxi paint. This was a very big deal and detailed task. But they got it figured out so that it can be fixed.
This taught me just how much responsiblity is on a designers shoulders and I can see that it can be come very stressfull especially when it comes to crunch time. You are in charge of everything that is going on, and the client is greatly depending on you to their house done to perfection.
Later I went to Wilson lighting to pick up lighting fixtures for the same project, we brought them back and them off the purchase order list to make sure we had them all.
